In reply to Mr. Wolfe

I was sick at the time. I put the money on the bed. My wife may have mixed up the change. We used sometimes to draw 50 notes and 150 notes, I knew because they were paid out. That

was done once, I think, in Mr. Leete's time.

In reply to Mr. Messer

The European Police often draw their pay in 850 notes.

In reply to Mr. Kemp

I cannot say if any 100 notes were drawn in March.

In reply to Mr. Messer

Mr. Leete gave me two separate sums. I did not count them.

They were mostly in fives and tens.

In reply to Mr. Wolfe -

Sometimes Chau Chik-sang came on the last day of the month, and sometimes later.

If he did not happen to call on the day on which I drew the money, I gave it to the accountant if he were there, or kept it

in the drawer. I never took it out of the Station.

In reply to Mr. Kemp

I took it out on this occasion because the Station coolie was there.

In reply to Mr. Wolfe

-

I once handed it back to Mr. Taylor.

In reply to Mr. Messer

I am not secured. You recommended that I should not give

security. I have nothing to do with the cash. I drew the

money because Chau Chi-sang asked me. I witness signatures on receipts.

Richard James Leete.

We had nothing else but 5 notes left at the asse of the day.

We had had fifties and hundreds but they had run out. To Mr. Wolfo

There was a great crowd. Mr. Mok made out the envelopes. I put the money in. Anyone who happened to be there would be called
